Peter Newland Commercial DirectorPeter graduated in 1993 with a First Class Honours Degree in graphic design from Humberside University. Prior to co-founding Newl&Potter in 2001 he spent seven years at a leading Central London consultancy. He worked on a variety of accounts including The Rolling Stones, Yo! Sushi, Greenpeace, Virgin Radio and Trainline.com, culminating in his appointment as Art Director. Peter’s commercial experience and understanding of a brand and all aspects of its communications, have ensured lasting working relationships with clients such as Planet Hollywood, London Clubs International and Primesight Advertising.
Ed Potter Creative DirectorEd also studied at Humberside University and likewise left in 1993 with a First Class Honours Degree in graphic design. From 1994 -2001 he worked in-house at the fashion brand Ted Baker. In his role as Director of Graphics he was responsible for the design, art direction, implementation and policing of all domestic and international branding, packaging, marketing collateral and corporate communications. His retail design expertise has led to working with many of the high street’s leading names including Tesco, Next, John Lewis and Oasis Womenswear.
Sam Bean Senior DesignerSam was educated in graphic design at Middlesex University. In 1997 he started his career at Osborne & Little, rapidly rising to Head of Graphic Design for the group including Nena Campbell and Liberty Furnishings. He moved on to the West London based design consultancy Trigger in 2004 where he worked on the design and art direction for many fashion, retail and lifestyle brands including Alexon Brands Plc, Lyle & Scott, Mini Boden, Pantene, Vespa, Wella and Ritz Fine Jewellery. Sam joined Newl&Potter in 2006 and has since established successful client relationships with Ocean Outdoor Advertising, Fifty London and MDS Pharma .
Mark Johnson Marketing DirectorMark qualified in three dimensional design at Trent Polytechnic in 1985 and has worked for a number of brand, architecture and design consultancies, including Fitch and Bisset Adams, joining Newl&Potter in 2009. He has over 25 years experience in corporate identity, brand consultancy, graphic communications, interior design and architecture, helping clients to define their brands, culture and experience. Past clients include Volvo, The Places for People Group, Bracknell Forest Council, State Street Bank, Merrill Lynch, British Telecommunications, British Airways and the British Airport Authority.
Jane Newland IllustratorJane qualified in Illustration from Maidstone College of Art in 1986. Since then her extensive freelance experience has covered a broad range of clients including Macmillan Publishing, Endemol UK, OMD Media Communications and Touchstone Pictures. Her versatility, working from both imagination and life, guarantees a fresh response to each brief. Amongst other clients, Jane’s work has featured in identity and branding projects for Next and John Lewis, as well as a website for The Ignite Group and packaging for Miracle-Gro and Levingtons.
